The chapter network
The Wire Association International (WAI), Inc. supports local area chapters, which allows for members to interact on both the local and regional level. These chapter networks are successful because each chapter operates under the WAI umbrella giving all members a view of both local and global issues.

WAI chapters provide local networking opportunities through participation in regional meetings, technical presentations, activities, and social events. Beginning in 1994 with the New England U.S. Chapter, WAI has chartered six chapters in the United States plus three additional chapters in Italy, India, and Poland.

Chapter membership is open to all WAI members who work or live within a chapter's defined area. Individuals who are new members of WAI and located in a chapter's region automatically receive one year's chapter membership for free. Chapter membership requires membership in WAI as well as annual dues of $15.

WAI chapters are led by a board of directors elected from the current active membership of the chapter, and these directors elect the officers. Each chapter is governed by a set of bylaws, and each board is responsible for development and implementation of programs aimed at providing educational and networking opportunities for the chapter's members.
