Ducab Group reports cable sale to Senegal, adds to its long list of African customers

Ducab Expands into Senegal with 220 kV High-Voltage Cable Supply

Ducab Group, a UAE-based end-to-end energy solutions provider and cable manufacturer, has expanded its footprint in Africa by supplying 220 kV high-voltage (HV) cables to Senegal for the first time. The milestone marks a significant step in Ducabโ€™s African Growth Strategy and reflects the companyโ€™s continued commitment to supporting the continentโ€™s power infrastructure.

Strengthening Power Infrastructure in Dakar

The new cables form part of a critical upgrade to Dakarโ€™s power network, helping the city meet rising electricity demands. Through this initiative, Ducab supports Senegalโ€™s goal of achieving universal electricity access by 2026. The project highlights the growing collaboration between the UAE and African nations in building essential energy systems.

According to Charles Mellagui, CEO of Ducab Cables Business, the expansion underlines Ducabโ€™s mission to deliver reliable and world-class energy solutions.

โ€œThis milestone supports Dakarโ€™s energy infrastructure and demonstrates Ducabโ€™s dedication to empowering communities with sustainable power solutions,โ€ said Mellagui.

Expanding Ducabโ€™s African Footprint

With this latest project, Senegal becomes the 23rd African country to receive products from Ducabโ€™s extensive cable portfolio. The company already serves markets including Angola, South Africa, Kenya, Zimbabwe, and Egypt. Currently, Ducab operates in 75 global markets, illustrating its growing international presence.

Sustained Growth and Strategic Alignment

Ducabโ€™s successful entry into Senegal follows strong financial momentum across 2024. The company reported 1% revenue growth last year and projects a 15% increase for 2025. Similarly, production volume rose 4% in 2024, with expectations for a 21% jump this year.

This expansion aligns with Ducabโ€™s African Growth Strategy and supports the UAEโ€™s $4.5 billion renewable energy investment pledge across Africa. By aligning its goals with regional development priorities, Ducab continues to play a pivotal role in advancing Africaโ€™s energy infrastructure and enabling a cleaner, more connected future.
