Bansal Wire Industries Limited’s subsidiary, BWI Steel Private Limited, has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme 1.2, as per the Ministry of Steel, Government of India. This strategic move is aimed at the production of Specialty Steel.

The MoU signifies BWI Steel’s commitment to the PLI 1.2 scheme, with the company pledging to establish a production capacity of 70,000 tonnes per annum. This ambitious target is set to be achieved through a substantial investment of approximately INR 70 crore, spread across the financial years 2025-26 and 2026-27.
The investment is earmarked for the establishment and expansion of new facilities, aimed at meeting the targeted production levels and fulfilling the conditions set forth by the PLI scheme. This strategic move by BWI Steel underscores the company’s commitment to the wire and cable industry, and its readiness to embrace innovative solutions and regulatory changes.
The signing of the MoU took place on February 11, 2026, marking a significant milestone in the company’s growth trajectory. This development is expected to further strengthen Bansal Wire Industries Limited’s position in the wire and cable industry, and contribute to the broader growth and development of the sector.
