LS Cable & System Invests $50mn in Tarboro Industrial Operation Expansion

LS Cable & System USA, Inc. announced a USD 50 million investment to expand its manufacturing facility in Tarboro, North Carolina

LS Cable & System USA, Inc, the American subsidiary of LS Cable & System Ltd. (“LS C&S”), has recently declared an investment of USD 50 million to augment its manufacturing facility in Tarboro, North Carolina. This move underlines the firm’s dedication to bringing advanced manufacturing back to the United States, fortifying the supply chain, and playing a pivotal role in the country’s energy infrastructure.

The expansion will incorporate two additional Continuous Catenary Vulcanization (CCV) production lines, thereby significantly enhancing the capacity for medium-voltage power distribution cable manufacturing. These new CCV lines are set to cater to the escalating demand from electric utilities, renewable energy projects, data centers, and industrial customers across North America. The investment will also boost the total employment at the facility, increasing the workforce from 250 to 335.

“LS Cable & System USA’s announcement reflects their faith in North Carolina,” stated North Carolina Governor Josh Stein. “Our state boasts the largest manufacturing workforce in the Southeast and a flourishing business environment that attracts companies looking to expand. North Carolina is keen to support LS Cable & System as it bolsters the domestic supply chain to power our nation.”

North Carolina Department of Commerce Secretary Lee Lilley added, “North Carolina is proud to back LS Cable & System USA’s expansion in Tarboro. This project bolsters our state’s advanced manufacturing sector, supports crucial energy infrastructure, and creates significant opportunities for rural workers and communities.”

U.S. Senator Thom Tillis commented, “This USD 50 million expansion by LS Cable & System in Tarboro is a robust endorsement of North Carolina’s workforce and our role in fortifying America’s energy infrastructure. By bringing advanced manufacturing back to the US and expanding domestic cable production, LS Cable & System is contributing to a more resilient supply chain while creating well-paying jobs in eastern North Carolina. I am proud to endorse investments like this that drive economic growth and keep our state competitive.”

U.S. Senator Ted Budd noted, “LS Cable & System is a cornerstone of eastern North Carolina’s business community, manufacturing critical infrastructure our country relies on. Their work fortifies our economy, brings vital industries back to the United States, and creates well-paying jobs for North Carolinians. I am pleased to see this expansion of operations in Tarboro, and I anticipate the burgeoning opportunities in eastern North Carolina that will ensue.
