Theย Aztech Lubricants acquisitionย byย Kodiakย marks a major step forward for both companies. Kodiak, a global leader in chemical innovation, has acquiredย Aztech Lubricants, a respected manufacturer of wire industry lubricants.
Founded in 2005 byย Jonathan Andersonย andย Michael Colvin, Aztech operates from Wayne, Oklahoma. The facility spans 40,000 square feet and includes an advanced in-house laboratory forย quality controlย andย research and development.
Anderson will continue asย Director of Technology, while Colvin becomesย Director of Business Development. Their continued leadership will help ensure a smooth transition and consistent innovation.
Kodiak operates on six continents with over 80 chemists working in 17 laboratories. Now, the company plans to expand Aztechโs production capacity to meet rising global demand.
โWeโre upgrading the Oklahoma plant to include more oil- and water-based technologies,โ said Kodiak Presidentย Laura Dickey. โThis expansion will allow us to better support our customers. Furthermore, our strategy includes widening our product line to deliver corrosion inhibitors, cleaners, resins, industrial lubricants, fire-resistant hydraulic fluids, and powdered chemicals.โ
This acquisition will not only enhance Kodiakโs industrial chemistry portfolio but also strengthen its presence in key markets such as agriculture, automotive, construction, and tire manufacturing.
Jonathan Andersonย recalled the early days of the company. โWhen Mike and I started Aztech in 2005, we did everything ourselves,โ he said. โIt took determination and long hours to grow the business. However, with Kodiakโs support, we can now achieve even more.โ
He added that both founders remain committed to the companyโs success. Although they may take on fewer day-to-day tasks over time, they plan to stay active and involved in guiding Aztechโs next phase of growth.
