Cerrowire Expands in Hartselle with $100 Million Metal-Clad Cable Plant

The Cerrowire Hartselle metal-clad cable plant represents the company’s next major step in American manufacturing. Cerrowire, a leading U.S. producer of copper building wire, is investing over $100 million to construct a 270,000-square-foot facility in Hartselle, Alabama. This advanced plant will produce metal-clad (M-C) cable, also known as armored cable, to meet rising demand in commercial, residential, and industrial construction.

Founded in 1921, Cerrowire celebrates its 100th anniversary with this groundbreaking project. The new facility in the Morgan Center Business Park will feature state-of-the-art automation and precision equipment. These upgrades will improve production speed, enhance quality control, and strengthen Cerrowire’s century-long commitment to reliability and innovation.

Driving Economic Growth and Job Creation in Hartselle

The Cerrowire Hartselle metal-clad cable plant will generate over 130 new jobs, providing a significant boost to the local economy. According to Cerrowire President Stewart Smallwood, Hartselle offers a strategic location that supports both workforce development and logistics efficiency. He credited the State of AlabamaMorgan County, the Tennessee Valley Authority, and the City of Hartselle for their support in making the project possible.
