CommScope Finalizes CCS Sale to Amphenol and Exits Cable Manufacturing

CommScope has completed the sale of its Connectivity and Cable Solutions (CCS) wire and cable business to Amphenol. As a result, CommScope now fully exits wire and cable manufacturing and shifts its focus to new networking solutions.

10.5 Billion Dollar Deal Reshapes Two Industry Leaders

According to a company press release, CommScope values the CCS divestiture at about 10.5 billion dollars. The deal, first announced in August, therefore marks a major move for both companies.

Through this transaction, Amphenol adds a wide portfolio of copper and fiber cables, coaxial products, and connectivity hardware to its Communications Solutions segment. In addition, the acquired CCS business serves telecom, broadband, enterprise, and data center markets and includes around 20,000 employees worldwide.

CCS Legacy Continues Under Amphenolโ€™s Communications Solutions Segment

CommScope, founded in 1976, built a strong global reputation in communications infrastructure. Over time, the company grew its presence in copper and fiber cabling, coaxial products, and connectivity hardware. At its peak, CommScope ranked as the worldโ€™s largest producer of coaxial cable for HFC networks and a leading supplier of enterprise structured cabling systems.

Under the terms of the deal, Amphenol will continue to use the CommScope name and key CCS brands within its Communications Solutions segment. This approach, in turn, preserves brand recognition and customer confidence in global markets.

CommScope Transitions to New Brand: Vistance Networks

Following the divestiture, CommScopeโ€™s remaining businesses will no longer operate under the CommScope name. Instead, the company has introduced a new corporate identity: Vistance Networks.

Vistance Networks will focus on network intelligence, connectivity platforms, and managed networking services. Moreover, it will build on the platform, access, and enterprise networking technologies that CommScope developed as it moved beyond its legacy manufacturing roots.
