Benya Capital to Build Largest Fiber Optic Cable Factory in Middle East
Benya Capital, an Egyptian ICT infrastructure provider, has signed a contract with theย Arab Organisation for Industrialisation (AOI)ย to establish the largestย fiber optic cable factoryย in theย Middle East and Africa (MEA)ย region. This landmark project will strengthen Egypt’s telecommunications manufacturing capabilities.
Fiber Optic Cable Factory Investment Details
The plant will cost overย EGP 1 billionย and will occupy a large site at theย Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone). Additionally, a tripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) formalizes the partnership between AOI,ย Benya Capital (formerly known as Fiber Misr), and theย Arab Academy for Science, Technology, and Maritime Transport (AASTMT).

Strategic Partnership for Fiber Optic Technology
The three entities will collaborate onย Artificial Intelligence (AI) projectsย and training programs. Specifically, these programs will cover installation, operation, and maintenance of fiber networks. Consequently, this partnership ensures comprehensive workforce development alongside manufacturing expansion.
Abdel Moneim Al-Tarras,ย AOI chairperson, emphasized the factory’s employment potential. Notably, theย fiber optic cable factoryย will create numerous job opportunities for young engineers and technicians. Furthermore, it will provide training in the latest fiber optic cable technologies.
Meeting Regional Infrastructure Demands
Al-Tarras stated that AOI aims to establish a national industry that meets local market needs forย communications infrastructure. Moreover, the factory will serve Egypt’s new development projects and smart cities. Additionally, it will open export markets throughout theย MEA region.
This strategic location at the Suez Canal Economic Zone positions the facility for efficient distribution across Africa and the Middle East. Therefore, theย fiber optic cable factoryย will strengthen Egypt’s position as a regional manufacturing hub.
