FENN MacBee Intellectual Property Acquisition Strengthens Wire and Tube Portfolio
On July 3, 2022,ย FENN, LLCย announced theย FENN MacBee intellectual property acquisitionย from Engineered Machinery Group Inc., including the rights to MacBee Engineering Group. This move gives FENN the ability to build, support, and grow MacBee product lines. As a result, wire and tube customers gain stronger long-term machinery and service support.
FENN MacBee Intellectual Property Acquisition and Legacy
Theย FENN MacBee intellectual property acquisitionย builds on a long and respected MacBee history. MacBee Engineering, founded in 1966, earned a strong reputation as an American manufacturer of sink and draw machines, drawbenches, payoffs, take-ups, and other ancillary equipment. In 2004, former MacBee Vice President John Stevens bought MacBee Engineering and added its product range to his own company, Engineered Machinery Group.
Stevens closed Engineered Machinery Group in 2013. However, the MacBee product line continued. He licensed the line to his son, who ran a separate company under the MacBee name until the pandemic forced its closure. During this time, Stevens kept ownership of all MacBee designs and intellectual property. In addition, he supported customers through his firm, John Stevens Consulting.
Why FENN Became the New Home for MacBee
MacBee customers continued to rely on John Stevens for technical assistance and support. Even so, he wanted a permanent home for the MacBee rights. He knew customers needed a source for new machinery and a deeper level of service and spare parts availability. Because of its similar focus on wire and tube customers, industries, and equipment,ย FENNย became a natural choice.
โMacBeeโs wire and tube focused product lines are an excellent complement to our existing drawbench, swager, and wire shaping offerings. We look forward to utilizing FENNโs existing infrastructure to continue providing MacBee equipment, service, and spare parts for MacBee customers,โ said FENN President Ryan Cutter. His comments highlight how the acquisition fits smoothly into FENNโs current capabilities.
Supporting MacBee Customers After the FENN MacBee Intellectual Property Acquisition
Theย FENN MacBee intellectual property acquisitionย ensures continuity and future growth for MacBee users. FENN will deliver OEM MacBee machinery, service, and spare parts through its established manufacturing and support network. Therefore, existing MacBee customers gain more responsive support. New buyers also gain a reliable, long-term source for equipment.
With more than 50 years of experience in wire and tube machinery, John Stevens will join FENN as a consultant to support MacBee product lines. โI am excited to work with the FENN team to continue building and supporting MacBee machinery. I am thrilled to see the MacBee legacy continue with FENNโs resources, support, and guidance,โ he said. His ongoing involvement further reassures MacBee customers.
