U.S.-basedย Fisk Alloy, Inc.ย has agreed to joinย Thermo Technologiesย in a strategic transaction that will create a stronger global player inย high-performance copper alloy wire. Theย Fisk Alloy Thermo Technologies acquisitionย extends both companiesโ€™ reach across Europe, North America, and Asia.

The companies describe the deal as aย strategic combinationย that will form a global expert inย high-performance copper alloy wires.

Founded inย 1973, Fisk Alloy manufacturesย advanced copper alloy wireย for demanding sectors, includingย automotive, medical, electronics, and aerospace. The company employs aboutย 200 peopleย at its facility inย Hawthorne, New Jersey, and continues to serve these high-specification markets under the Fisk name.

Thermo Technologies profile and ownership

Thermo Technologiesย produces a broad range of specialized wire and surface technologies, including:

  • Electrolytic precious metal coatings

  • EDM wire

  • High-tech solid and stranded copper, copper alloy, and aluminum wires

The group operates across three continents and is controlled byย Edify SA, a Swiss industrial holding company listed on theย Euro MTF market of the Luxembourg Stock Exchange. This backing supports Thermo Technologiesโ€™ growth strategy in advanced wire and coating solutions.

Leadership, structure, and integration plans

Thermo Technologies CEOย Gilles Mollardย will oversee the combined operations after closing.

Eric Fisk, CEO and controlling owner of Fisk Alloy, will step away from day-to-day management. However, he willย become a significant investor in Thermo Technologiesย and join itsย Supervisory Board, helping shape long-term strategy.

The existing Fisk management team will continue to run theย U.S. operations, which will retain theย Fisk Alloy brand. The companies expect to close the transaction by theย end of the first quarter of 2020, subject to customary conditions.
