Advanced Technology Enables Faster Deployment
Furukawa will deliver its pre-terminated, fusion-free solutions. These systems allow faster installation and support a pay-as-you-grow investment model.
As a result, izzi can expand its network efficiently while controlling costs. In addition, the new infrastructure could reach up to 1.6 million homes.
Expanding Telecom Infrastructure in Mexico
izzi telecom currently operates in more than 60 cities across 29 states. Its network includes over 30,000 km of fiber optic cable and 77,000 km of coaxial cable.
Therefore, this upgrade will significantly enhance broadband capacity and service quality.
Mexicali Expansion Plans and Market Growth
At the same time, Furukawa Electric Corp. is considering expanding its Mexicali plant, which opened in 2017. The facility produces fiber optic cables and telecom components.
Strong domestic demand in Mexico is driving this potential expansion. The company may add a new facility that could double its current production space.
The Mexicali site also offers logistical advantages. Its proximity to the U.S. market and access to Pacific export routes support global distribution. Additionally, the region provides a skilled workforce and access to technical resources.
