Germanyโ€™s EJP buys company in Poland that had been a strategic alliance partner

EJP Italmec Wire Process Acquisition Overview

EJP Maschinen GmbHย in Germany has acquired aย significant share of Italmec Sp. z o.o., a Polish manufacturer of wire drawing machines and peripheral equipment. Thisย EJP Italmec wire process acquisitionย builds on the strategic partnership the two companies formed in 2020 and deepens EJPโ€™s presence in the global wire machinery market.

With Italmecโ€™s drawing lines and EJPโ€™s own cleaning systems (formerly underย EJP WITEC GmbH), EJP can now deliver complete production linesโ€”from incoming wire rod all the way to finished coils. This integrated portfolio gives wire producers a single-source partner for every major step in the process chain.

Complete Wire Lines and Expanded Technology Portfolio

Founded in 2006,ย Italmec Sp. z o.o.ย brings extensive know-how in wire drawing technology. In November 2018, Italmec also acquired theย WWM (Welding Wire Machinery)ย brand, including its patents, projects, and experienced team. As a result, the combined group now covers an even wider range of equipment and applications.

According to EJP, the companyโ€™s broader portfolio includes:

  • Wire drawing lines

  • Combined drawing machines

  • Drawbenches

  • Peeling machines

  • Straightening machines

  • Cleaning and pretreatment systems

Last September, EJP andย Lothar Kรถppenย co-foundedย EJP WIRE Technology, which supplies machinery and process technology for wire pretreatment. Together, these additions strengthen EJPโ€™s position as a complete solutions provider for the wire industry.

Closing Gaps in the Global Wire Market

โ€œThere were many changes in the international market in 2020,โ€ saidย Jacques Paraskevas, Managing Director of EJP Maschinen. He explained that by investing in Italmec and the WWM brand, EJP closes a gap that emerged last year and moves closer to fully integrated offerings.

Paraskevas noted that this involvement marks another logical step toward complete wire solutions. EJP now ranks among the few suppliers that can design and build entire plants covering the full wire process chain while also supporting customers through a global sales and service network. He added that these capabilities also create synergies for other long products, including rods, tubes, and profiles.

Additional EJP Group Companies and Synergies

Beyond the Italmec acquisition, EJPโ€™s broader group includes two more specialized companies:

  • EJP-TOSCA, which supplies shot blasting equipment

  • EJP Italia, which provides butt welding equipment for wire

Together, these businesses give EJP a comprehensive toolkit for wire and long-product processingโ€”from surface treatment and welding to drawing and finishingโ€”making it a strong technology partner for manufacturers worldwide.
