Hellenic Cables to be a supplier for an on-shore and an offshore project

Hellenic Cables Secures Denmark and U.S. Cable Supply Contracts

Hellenic Cables has secured major international deals through its Hellenic Cables offshore wind cable project activity. The company will support projects in Denmark and the United States, expanding its role in both onshore and offshore power networks.

Denmark High-Voltage Cable Framework Agreement

In Denmark, Energinet selected Hellenic Cables as one of three suppliers under a long-term framework agreement. This contract covers underground cable systems ranging from 145 kV to 170 kV.

The agreement runs from 2020 to 2028. During this period, Energinet expects to require approximately 4,200 kilometers of cable. The contract also includes all components needed for Denmark’s onshore transmission network.

Energinet will assign orders either directly or through competitive bidding. Hellenic Cables will manufacture the cables at its Thebes facility in Greece.

Hellenic Cables Offshore Wind Cable Project in the U.S.

Meanwhile, Hellenic Cables has partnered with Semco Maritime to support the Mayflower Wind project in the United States. This project is a joint venture between Shell New Energies and EDPR Offshore North America.

As part of this Hellenic Cables offshore wind cable project, the company will supply approximately 300 kilometers of 66 kV XLPE insulated submarine inter-array cables. These cables will connect wind turbines to the offshore substation.

The company will produce the cables at its Corinth submarine cable facility. It plans to complete manufacturing by the end of 2023, with installation expected by 2025.

Expanding Global Energy Infrastructure Role

Through these projects, Hellenic Cables continues to expand its presence in renewable energy infrastructure. The company supports both grid modernization and offshore wind development, positioning itself for future growth.
