Italyโ€™s Danieli reports getting wire rod mill orders from 2 Turkish customers

Italy-based Danieli secured two new wire rod mill orders from major steel producers in Turkey. These Danieli wire rod mill orders in Turkey strengthen its presence in the region and support higher-quality long products. As a result, both Turkish customers will increase production capacity and expand their advanced steel grade offerings.

Danieli Wire Rod Mill Order from ฤฐร‡DAลž

The first order comes from ฤฐร‡DAลž ร‡ELฤฐK Enerji Tersane ve UlaลŸฤฑm Sanayi A.ลž. (ฤฐร‡DAลž) for its steel plant in Biga, Turkey. ฤฐร‡DAลž already runs two Danieli wire rod lines at this location, in operation since 2005, and now plans to further increase its wire rod coil market share. In addition, the company aims to add more advanced steel grades to its product portfolio.

The new mill will produce a wide range of steel grades, including welding wire, high-carbon steel, cold-heading steel, bearing steel, spring steel, free-cutting steel, and alloyed steels. It will roll at speeds up to 110 m/sec, which supports both high productivity and consistent quality. Line startup is scheduled for the second quarter of 2021, so ฤฐร‡DAลž will quickly benefit from the added capacity.

The supplied equipment package includes a ten-pass fast finishing block with the latest Multidrives (M2ยฎ) configuration. It also features a Danieli Structure Control (DSCยฎ) water-cooling line and a four-pass reducing and sizing Twin Module Block (TMBยฎ) with individual drive control. Furthermore, Danieliโ€™s Swedish affiliate Sund Birsta will provide the vertical coil compactor to improve coil handling and packaging. Second Danieli Wire Rod Mill Order from HabaลŸ

The second order comes from HabaลŸ Sฤฑnai ve Tibbi Gazlar ฤฐstihsal Endรผstrisi A.ลž. (HabaลŸ) for its steelmaking plant in Aliaga, Turkey. HabaลŸ chose Danieli to supply a new wire rod line as well as slab caster electrical and automation systems. In addition, Danieli will deliver technological packages that aim to improve process control and energy efficiency.

The new wire rod line will produce a broad mix of steel grades and products. These include medium-carbon steel, welding wire, high-carbon wire, PC wire, and reinforcement steel. It will operate at a maximum rolling speed of 110 m/sec, which helps HabaลŸ compete in demanding construction and industrial wire markets. Startup is scheduled for the third quarter of 2021, so the plant will soon gain higher output and flexibility. For more information, visit Danieli and HabaลŸ.
