KEC Expands Vadodara Plant Under Backward Integration Strategy
KEC International Ltd. has inaugurated a new railway conductor manufacturing unit at its existing plant in Vadodara, Gujarat. The expansion strengthens KEC’s backward integration strategy and reinforces its position as a leading global infrastructure engineering company.
The inauguration ceremony was led by Vimal Kejriwal, CEO and Managing Director of KEC International, alongside Singh Sethi, Executive Director – Cables. The leaders met with the plant’s 550 employees to acknowledge their continued dedication and contributions to the company’s growth.
KEC Highlights Employee Commitment and Growth
During the ceremony, Kejriwal praised the team for supporting the company’s long‑term objectives through consistent performance and efficiency. He also emphasized that KEC’s Vadodara plant plays an essential role in advancing production for India’s expanding railway infrastructure sector.
The business continues to record steady growth, with new orders worth approximately $285 million logged for 2022–2023. These new contracts show strong market demand for KEC’s range of conductors and high‑quality railway cables.

The Vadodara plant now manufactures an expanded range of railway conductors and cables designed for Indian Railways and other infrastructure companies in the railway sector. This development enables KEC to optimize production, improve supply chain control, and increase competitive efficiency through in‑house manufacturing.
