LAPP Group Takes Full Ownership of JJ-LAPP, Completing Largest Acquisition in Company History

LAPP Group has taken full ownership of JJ-LAPP, ending a two-decade joint venture with Jebsen & Jessen Group and marking the largest acquisition in LAPPโ€™s history.

LAPP acquires remaining stake in Southeast Asian JV

According to a company press release, LAPP completed the transaction at the end of 2025 by acquiring the remaining 50% shareholding in JJ-LAPP. The deal converts the Singapore-based business into a wholly owned subsidiary of LAPP. The company did not disclose financial terms.

LAPP and Jebsen & Jessen established the JJ-LAPP joint venture in 2004 to introduce German-engineered cable and connectivity solutions into Southeast Asia through localized manufacturing and strong regional market expertise. Since then, the business has grown into a leading connectivity solutions provider across the region, employing approximately 350 people.

Manufacturing footprint and regional reach

JJ-LAPP operates a manufacturing facility in Indonesia and maintains its headquarters in Singapore, supported by additional operations in Malaysia, the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam. The business serves key markets including building infrastructure, industrial automation, renewable energy, machine building, and harnessing solutions.

The Indonesian manufacturing site produces a broad portfolio of LAPP-branded industrial cables, including power, control, data, and solar cables, along with pre-assembled harnesses and related connectivity products tailored to regional customer requirements.

Acquisition strengthens Asia-Pacific growth strategy

LAPP Group CEO Matthias Lapp described Southeast Asia as one of the worldโ€™s most dynamic economic regions, citing rapid industrialization, a young workforce, and growing demand for advanced connectivity solutions.

โ€œWith this acquisition, we are taking a momentous step in our Asia-Pacific growth strategy,โ€ Lapp said. โ€œBy combining JJ-LAPPโ€™s local strength and entrepreneurial spirit with LAPPโ€™s German quality, innovation, and global network, we are creating a powerful force to shape the future of the Southeast Asian industry.โ€

Richard Lee, CEO of LAPP Asia Pacific, said full ownership will allow JJ-LAPP to accelerate growth while maintaining its strong customer-focused culture. Per Magnusson, CEO of Jebsen & Jessen Group, described the transaction as a natural evolution of a 21-year partnership that will unlock additional efficiencies and synergies.

Focus on continuity and investment

LAPP, headquartered in Stuttgart, Germany, stated that its immediate priorities include ensuring a smooth transition, maintaining JJ-LAPPโ€™s existing market development plans, investing in talent, and expanding the companyโ€™s product and service offering across Southeast Asia.
