Leoni sells most of its industrial business to BizLink Holding, will focus on automotive

Leoni AG has completed the Leoni Industrial Solutions sale to BizLink as it sharpens its focus on the Wiring Systems Division for the automotive industry. This move supports Leoniโ€™s VALUE 21 plan and also strengthens its position as a core wiring systems supplier.

Strategic Shift Toward Wiring Systems

Leoni transferred its Business Group Industrial Solutions, part of the Wire & Cable Solutions (WCS) division, to BizLink. This sale marks a key milestone in the VALUE 21 performance and strategy program. The plan aims to streamline operations and, in turn, improve profitability.

CEO Aldo Kamper said the step confirms Leoniโ€™s commitment to its Wiring Systems Division and its focus on the automotive sector. In addition, Leoni recently sold Leoni Schweiz AG and the data communication and compound divisions of Leoni Kerpen GmbH. As a result, the group now aligns more closely with its core strategy.

BizLink, a global cable connection and connectivity provider, gains a broader industrial platform through the Leoni Industrial Solutions sale to BizLink. The deal includes about 20 international locations in 10 countries, with roughly 3,000 employees. These sites serve sectors such as healthcarerobotics, and automation. Therefore, BizLink gains both scale and access to new customers, especially in Europe.

BizLink Chairman Roger Liang said the acquisition strengthens the companyโ€™s technical and service capabilities. It also boosts its global scale and supports longโ€‘term diversification by adding exposure to several growth industries.

Financial Impact and Outlook for Leoni

The sold activities generated about โ‚ฌ430 million in sales in fiscal year 2020 and have an enterprise value of around โ‚ฌ450 million. After completion, Leoni expects to record a profit of roughly โ‚ฌ200 million in the Groupโ€™s reported EBIT. This result supports its financial restructuring and future investments in automotive wiring systems. At the same time, the Leoni Industrial Solutions sale to BizLink frees resources for core growth.

Kamper expressed confidence in the Industrial Solutions business under BizLink ownership. He stressed that Leoni wanted an investor that would continue to develop the business and its products for global industrial customers. He believes BizLink fits that goal.
