LLFlex Acquires Web Industries Cable Armoring Division

LLFlexย has acquired theย wire and cable metal armoring tapesย slitting division ofย Web Industries, an international materials converter and contract manufacturer. This acquisition expands LLFlex’s production capabilities and product range in the cable armoring market.

Cable Armoring Tapes Acquisition Details

The deal includes slitting and related assets for producingย coated and uncoated copper and aluminum cable wraps and armor tapes. Consequently, the acquisition bolsters capacity and capabilities at LLFlex’s state-of-the-art production cell inย High Point, North Carolina.

Notably, the facility features the industry’s largest diameter coils. Additionally, incorporating Web Industries’ infrastructure advances the new site’s position as a “Global Cable Wrap Center of Excellence.”

Enhanced Cable Armoring Tapes Production Capabilities

Combined withย Foreign Trade Zone statusย and flexible shipping options, the move strengthens LLFlex’s position as a turnkey provider. Furthermore, the company plans to launch its own shipping truck fleet later this year. This will improve delivery times and reduce costs for customers.

Victor Dixon,ย CEO of LLFlex, emphasized the expanded capabilities. Specifically, he stated that LLFlex can now provide the widest range ofย coated and bare steel, copper and aluminum cable wraps and armoring solutionsย in the marketplace.

Moreover, these unique assets make LLFlex more versatile with technical leadership, expanded product range, and global supply chain network. Therefore, the company can develop, produce, and deliver innovative products for evolving industry needs.

Innovative Manufacturing Technologies

The new High Point plant includes several groundbreaking innovations. First, LLFlex is initiating a touchless packaging process that eliminates edge damage from manual handling. Second, the company pioneers slitting technology that produces flat edges for improved processing and weldability on cable lines.

Facility Progress and Certification

At press time, the new plant was scheduled to commence wide-scale production shortly. The North Carolina facility has achieved steady progress toward its official opening. Key milestones include:

  • Installation of temperature and humidity controls

  • Site certification to operate as a Foreign Trade Zone

  • Hiring of skilled staff and production manager

  • Docking and loading bay construction

  • Wiring for industrial-grade electricity bandwidth

  • ERP system testing for GMP compliance and ISO 9001:2015 accreditation
