LS Cable & System Secures Brazil Submarine Cable Project with ISA CTEEP
LS Cable & System has secured a major international contract to supply extra-high-voltage submarine and underground cables to ISA CTEEP. As a result, the company strengthens its presence in the Brazilian power infrastructure market.
LS Cable Brazil submarine cable project expands global reach
The LS Cable Brazil submarine cable project includes the delivery of 100 kilometers of advanced power cables. These cables will support a new power grid connection to Santa Catarina Island, a popular destination in southern Brazil.
Meanwhile, ISA CTEEP (https://www.isacteep.com.br) manages 25% of Brazil’s total power transmission and 60% in the southeastern region. Therefore, this project will help reduce local power shortages and improve grid reliability.

Supporting Brazil’s Energy Diversification
Brazil relies heavily on hydroelectric power, which accounts for more than 60% of electricity generation. However, drought conditions can disrupt supply and create instability.
For this reason, the government continues to expand and diversify energy sources. The LS Cable Brazil submarine cable project supports this effort by enabling better integration of wind and solar energy. In turn, this will improve long-term energy stability.
Strategic Growth in Latin America
At the same time, CEO Roe-Hyun Myung highlighted the project’s strategic importance. He explained that it creates a strong foundation for growth in Brazil and nearby markets.
In addition, LS Cable plans to expand into Colombia through continued cooperation with ISA CTEEP.
Proven Expertise in Submarine Cable Projects
LS Cable & System ranks among the top three global cable manufacturers. The company has completed major projects across Europe, the Americas, and Asia.
For example, it delivered the first offshore wind farm cable project in the United States. It also completed large-scale submarine grid projects in Canada and Venezuela. As a result, these achievements helped secure the Brazil contract and demonstrate strong expertise in energy transmission solutions.
