The orders come from theย Singaporean government, which has worked since 2017 toย replace aging cable infrastructure. LS C&S notes that it holds theย largest market shareย in Singaporeโ€™s power cable sector. The company creditsย greater transparency in its local operations, improved management practices, andย active technical supportย over several years as key factors that helped it secure this new deal.

Strategy, growth, and offshore wind projects in Taiwan

LS C&S President and CEOย Myung Roeโ€‘hyunย says the company continues to expand overseas to offset theย global economic slowdownย andย limited domestic demand. He also describes the Singapore contract as aย valuable achievement, especially during the challenging business climate created by the Covidโ€‘19 crisis.

In addition, LS C&S has started shippingย submarine cables for Taiwanโ€™s offshore wind farms. The company previously won an order to supplyย highโ€‘voltage submarine cableย for theย first offshore wind farm project in Taiwan. That project requires the installation of aboutย 70 km of cableย for a site located off the coast ofย Yunlin County (Yunlin Xian)ย in western Taiwan.
