Madem Reels’ Texas Expansion Boosts North American Operations
Madem Reels Group, a global manufacturer of wooden reels, plans to open a new manufacturing, assembly, and distribution plant in Denton, Texas. This expansion strengthens the company’s footprint in North America and reinforces its commitment to better serving regional customers.
The project, managed by Madem‑Moorecraft Reels USA, Inc., follows the success of Madem’s first U.S. plant in North Carolina. According to President Marcos Ramalho, the new facility highlights Madem Group’s focus on innovation and local supply chain excellence.
Creating Jobs and Increasing Production Capacity
Operations at the Denton facility will begin in phases throughout 2022. Assembly and distribution start in the second quarter, while manufacturing begins in the fourth quarter. The company invested in state‑of‑the‑art CNC production lines to ensure precision and efficiency.
Vice President of Sales Steve Redhage said the new plant marks another step in Madem’s growth strategy. “This facility demonstrates our commitment to expand production capacity and strengthen the North American distribution network,” he noted.
The Denton site will create around 100 jobs. Once fully operational, it will produce more than 1,200 truckloads of KD reel kits each year, supporting faster delivery and stronger regional service.

Based in Brazil, Madem Reels operates as one of the leading producers of nailed wooden reels for the wire and cable industry. The company controls its own renewable forests, sawmills, and factories, allowing it to maintain consistent quality and promote sustainability.
Furthermore, the Madem Group employs over 700 people worldwide. Its facilities ship more than 6,000 containers of knocked‑down reels every year to over 150 wire and cable plants throughout the U.S., Bahrain, Colombia, Mexico, and Spain.
As a result, the Madem Reels Texas manufacturing plant further solidifies the company’s commitment to quality, sustainability, and global expansion.
