MWS Oxnard Fine Wire Facility Boosts Capacity
MWS Wire Industries, known for offering one of the world’s largest selections of magnet wire, has completed a new 30,000‑sq‑ft MWS Oxnard fine wire facility in Oxnard, California. The company describes the site as an agile production hub for drawing, shaping, serving, twisting, and insulating wire for high‑technology customers worldwide.
President Benjamin Konrad explained that MWS has invested heavily in a building that reflects its long‑term commitment to both employees and customers. The new facility houses the latest fine‑wire production equipment and already includes a 40,000‑sq‑ft warehouse, more than doubling the storage space available at the former Westlake Village, California, site. MWS also plans to expand the building by an additional 50,000 sq ft in the future.
New Manufacturing Capabilities and Value‑Added Services
Over the next year, MWS will significantly increase manufacturing capacity by adding new machines. These upgrades will support additional wire manufacturing capabilities and expanded value‑added services for customers that require specialized configurations and finishes.
Konrad noted that MWS intends to build on the formula that has guided the company for the past 50 years: strong customer service, consistent quality, competitive lead times, and broad availability of precision fine wire. The goal is to meet rapidly evolving requirements in electronics, aerospace, medical, and other high‑tech sectors over the next five decades as well.
Growth in MWS Medical Wire and New Markets
MWS has also made major strides in its medical wire business. The company has added five new sales organizations covering three continents, achieved ISO 13485:2016 certification for medical device quality management, and acquired strategic equipment for precious metal drawing and laser ablation.
In addition, MWS launched a dedicated medical wire website and entered an emerging marketplace focused on early‑stage medical device development. The company notes that it is the first wire manufacturer to feature its products on Chamfr, an online platform that connects device developers with ready‑to‑use medical components.

Since 2014, MWS has operated as part of The Elektrisola Group, a global producer of fine and ultra‑fine magnet wire. Elektrisola runs eight manufacturing plants across Europe (Germany, two sites in Italy, Switzerland), North America (U.S. and Mexico), and Asia (Malaysia and China).
This group backing gives MWS access to a broad technology base, global supply capabilities, and a strong international network. Konrad summed up the company’s outlook by saying that MWS is excited for the future and eager to “get down to the wire” on new and existing customer projects.
