Nexans Morocco Fiber Connectivity Plant Overview
Nexansย has expanded its industrial footprint in Morocco with a newย Nexans Morocco fiber connectivity plantย in the Nouaceur industrial acceleration zone, Midparc, near Casablanca. This facility supports the companyโs telecom systems business unit and strengthens its position in a fastโgrowing regional hub.
The site manufactures fiberโoptic cable connectorization accessories forย FTTH (Fiber to the Home),ย 5G,ย data center, andย LAN (Local Area Network)ย applications. It occupiesย 6,000 sq mย of land, with half dedicated to production, and will employย 250 to 300 people by 2022, adding to Nexansโ five existing locations in Morocco.
Products, Services, and Target Markets
From this plant, Nexans expands both its product mix and its service offering. In addition to connectorization accessories, the facility supports supplyโchain optimization, component preโwiring, and cable connectorization services.
These capabilities help operators and integrators speed FTTH and 5G deployments while also improving installation quality. The plant serves customers inย Europeย andย North Africa, so Morocco acts as a strategic link between the two regions.
Strategic Significance for Morocco and Nexans
Moroccoโs minister of industry, trade, green and digital economy,ย Moulay Hafid Elalamy, chaired the inauguration and welcomed Nexansโ latest investment. He noted that the project, aligned with European supplyโchain rationalization, highlights both Moroccoโsย competitivenessย and theย resilienceย of its industrial base during a challenging global period.
For Nexans, the site supports a broader regional growth strategy.ย Julien Hueber, executive vice president of Nexansโ Industry Solutions & Projects Business Group, explained that the investment advances the companyโs development plans in a highโgrowth region and gives Nexans a stronger local presence in theย North West Africanย market.
