Nexans inaugurates new plant in Morocco

Nexans Morocco Fiber Connectivity Plant Overview

Nexans has expanded its industrial footprint in Morocco with a new Nexans Morocco fiber connectivity plant in the Nouaceur industrial acceleration zone, Midparc, near Casablanca. This facility supports the company’s telecom systems business unit and strengthens its position in a fast‑growing regional hub.

The site manufactures fiber‑optic cable connectorization accessories for FTTH (Fiber to the Home), 5G, data center, and LAN (Local Area Network) applications. It occupies 6,000 sq m of land, with half dedicated to production, and will employ 250 to 300 people by 2022, adding to Nexans’ five existing locations in Morocco.

Products, Services, and Target Markets

From this plant, Nexans expands both its product mix and its service offering. In addition to connectorization accessories, the facility supports supply‑chain optimization, component pre‑wiring, and cable connectorization services.

These capabilities help operators and integrators speed FTTH and 5G deployments while also improving installation quality. The plant serves customers in Europe and North Africa, so Morocco acts as a strategic link between the two regions.

Strategic Significance for Morocco and Nexans

Morocco’s minister of industry, trade, green and digital economy, Moulay Hafid Elalamy, chaired the inauguration and welcomed Nexans’ latest investment. He noted that the project, aligned with European supply‑chain rationalization, highlights both Morocco’s competitiveness and the resilience of its industrial base during a challenging global period.

For Nexans, the site supports a broader regional growth strategy. Julien Hueber, executive vice president of Nexans’ Industry Solutions & Projects Business Group, explained that the investment advances the company’s development plans in a high‑growth region and gives Nexans a stronger local presence in the North West African market.
