SPS to rebuild destroyed plant, plans to reopen it by 2028

A fire on February 17 destroyed over 80% of SPS Technologiesโ€™s 560,000-square-foot aerospace fastener plant in Jenkintown, PA. Parent firm Precision Castparts Corp will rebuild, planning a 350,000-square-foot LEED-certified site by early 2028, rehiring some displaced employees and enhancing fire safety and environmental protections.

Finland maker of concentrates & compounds opens U.S. plant

Premix Group, a Finnish leader in electrically conductive plastics, opened a new manufacturing facility in Apple Creek, North Carolina, in 2025, enabled by a $79 million U.S. government contract. The state-of-the-art plant enhances domestic supply of advanced PE and PP compounds needed for critical diagnostics and electrostatic protection, reducing U.S. dependence on overseas suppliers.

WCMA to hold annual meeting on Dec. 4
