LS Cable & System is deploying the worldโs first commercial 500 kV, 90ยฐC HVDC cable for KEPCOโs DonghaeโSinghamyeong project. The high-temperature design increases transmission capacity, supports power delivery to the Seoul area, and builds on LS C&Sโs extensive submarine and underground HVDC experience in South Korea and international markets.
Nexans acquired Electro Cables Inc., a Canadian manufacturer of low-voltage cable systems and service-focused solutions. Founded in 1985, Electro Cables operates two plants in Trenton, Ontario, and employs about 200 people. Nexans said the deal strengthens its PWR-Connect business and supports future electrification.
Granite Falls Composites, formerly Roblon US, says it has gained strong momentum since completing a management buyout in July 2025. Led by Jamey Little and Melissa Curtis, the company is signing supply agreements and expanding BEAD and BABA-compliant materials to support growing U.S. broadband demand.
Hellenic Cables won a contract with DEME Offshore to deliver the offshore export cable system for Polandโs 390 MW BC-Wind offshore wind farm. The scope includes 29 km of 275 kV HVAC cable, scheduled for completion in 2027. The company also joined NEMA to support U.S. market growth.
Liberty Networks will deliver El Salvadorโs first submarine cable system, a 1,800-km project for telecom regulator SIGET. The system is expected to enter service in the second half of 2028 and will strengthen international connectivity, improve internet performance, and support innovation, cloud adoption, and economic growth.
