HVD Partners Sampsistemi Acquisition Fuels Global Turnaround

HVD Partnersย signed a definitive agreement to acquire the assets ofย Sampsistemi Srlย andย Sampsistemi Extrusion Srlย through a court-led process in Bologna, Italy. Theย HVD Partners Sampsistemi Acquisitionย includesย Samp Sistemiย andย Samp Extrusionย in Italy, plusย Samp China,ย Samp USA, andย Samp Brasil, includingย Cortinovis do Brazil. The deal also coversย 45% of Setic and Pourtier, while theย Gauder Groupย owns the remaining shares.

Revitalization Plan and Key Growth Markets

HVD Partners plans to invest in Sampsistemiโ€™sย international operations and brandย from its headquarters inย Bentivoglio, Italy. The firm will focus on performance in core markets such as theย U.S., China, and Brazil, and it will continue serving customers from existing locations.

Managing Partnerย Jouni Heinonenย described Sampsistemi as โ€œa globally recognized Italian champion.โ€ He said that HVD Partners will work closely with the management team to restoreย profitable growthย and to support clients in all major expansion markets.

Sampsistemiโ€™s Extrusion Equipment Expertise

Sampsistemiย supplies a broad range ofย extrusion equipmentย that processes materialย from rod to finished cable. Its systems cover conductor, insulation, and sheathing lines. Therefore, the company serves wire and cable manufacturers in energy, telecom, and multiple industrial sectors.

Meanwhile,ย HVD Partnersย positions itself as aย specialized transformation service provider. It helps banks, private lenders, corporations, and private equity fundsย develop and divest non-core activities, and it brings experience in reshaping cable-technology businesses.

Proven Turnaround Experience in Cable and Fiber

Inย 2018, HVD Partners led the carve-out ofย Solifos AG, a Swiss maker ofย specialty fiber optic cablesย for sensing and defense applications, fromย Brugg Cables. The team quickly implemented changes and moved Solifos fromย -15% EBITDA lossesย to a profitable stand-alone business in about six months.

Onย Dec. 11, 2020, HVD Partners agreed to sellย Solifos AGย toย NBG GmbH, completing that turnaround. In addition,ย Jouni Heinonenย previously served as CEO ofย Nextromย andย Plumettaz, and he also acted as chairman of Solifos. As a result, his background reinforces HVDโ€™s ability to transform and grow technology-focused cable companies.
