Sampsistem Srl and Sampsistemi Extrusion Srl to be sold, via Italian court bid, to HVD

HVD Partners Sampsistemi Acquisition Fuels Global Turnaround

HVD Partners signed a definitive agreement to acquire the assets of Sampsistemi Srl and Sampsistemi Extrusion Srl through a court-led process in Bologna, Italy. The HVD Partners Sampsistemi Acquisition includes Samp Sistemi and Samp Extrusion in Italy, plus Samp ChinaSamp USA, and Samp Brasil, including Cortinovis do Brazil. The deal also covers 45% of Setic and Pourtier, while the Gauder Group owns the remaining shares.

Revitalization Plan and Key Growth Markets

HVD Partners plans to invest in Sampsistemi’s international operations and brand from its headquarters in Bentivoglio, Italy. The firm will focus on performance in core markets such as the U.S., China, and Brazil, and it will continue serving customers from existing locations.

Managing Partner Jouni Heinonen described Sampsistemi as “a globally recognized Italian champion.” He said that HVD Partners will work closely with the management team to restore profitable growth and to support clients in all major expansion markets.

Sampsistemi’s Extrusion Equipment Expertise

Sampsistemi supplies a broad range of extrusion equipment that processes material from rod to finished cable. Its systems cover conductor, insulation, and sheathing lines. Therefore, the company serves wire and cable manufacturers in energy, telecom, and multiple industrial sectors.

Meanwhile, HVD Partners positions itself as a specialized transformation service provider. It helps banks, private lenders, corporations, and private equity funds develop and divest non-core activities, and it brings experience in reshaping cable-technology businesses.

Proven Turnaround Experience in Cable and Fiber

In 2018, HVD Partners led the carve-out of Solifos AG, a Swiss maker of specialty fiber optic cables for sensing and defense applications, from Brugg Cables. The team quickly implemented changes and moved Solifos from -15% EBITDA losses to a profitable stand-alone business in about six months.

On Dec. 11, 2020, HVD Partners agreed to sell Solifos AG to NBG GmbH, completing that turnaround. In addition, Jouni Heinonen previously served as CEO of Nextrom and Plumettaz, and he also acted as chairman of Solifos. As a result, his background reinforces HVD’s ability to transform and grow technology-focused cable companies.
