A New Combined Event for 2024

The jointย CASMI SpringWorld and SMI Metal Engineering eXpoย will take place October 2โ€“4, 2024, at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois. This collaboration combinesย SMIโ€™s technical education expertiseย withย CASMIโ€™s established trade show platform. As a result, attendees will enjoy one comprehensive event that unites learning, networking, and industry innovation.

Strengthening the Industry Together

โ€œWe decided to cancel the 2023 show so we could focus our energy and resources on the 2024 event,โ€ saidย Gene Huber, Jr., President of SMI and representative ofย Winamac Coil Spring. He explained that joining forces with CASMI helps the entire spring manufacturing community. Together, they plan to deliver a more valuable and efficient trade show experience.

Continued Technical Leadership from SMI

Although the 2023 eXpo will not take place, SMI still intends to host theย ISO/TC227 meetings. These meetings were originally scheduled for September 14โ€“15, 2023, in Las Vegas. A new date and location will be announced soon.
Meanwhile, SMI continues its important role as theย technical advisory group to the American National Standards Institute (ANSI)ย for ISO/TC227. Through this leadership, SMI ensures that American manufacturers, designers, and consumers remain represented in international standards development.

Refunds and Exhibitor Information

Exhibitors who reserved space for the 2023 event will receive full refunds. Furthermore, SMI encourages both exhibitors and attendees to join the combined 2024 trade show. This new event will offer expanded networking opportunities and in-depth educational sessions.
