Southwire plans to expand its Cofer Technology Center for R&D initiatives

The expanded facility will focus on sustainability. Engineers plan to develop cables using recyclable plastic insulation materials and other earth-friendly components. โ€œI am thrilled to share this announcement of Southwireโ€™s investment in the R&D space,โ€ said Chief Operating Officer Norman Adkins. โ€œThis project shows our progress as we move into a new era of electrical innovation.โ€

The new design also reflects Southwireโ€™s environmental priorities. It aims to meet Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) standards set by the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). These qualifications recognize energy efficiency and sustainable construction. As a result, the Cofer Technology Center will serve as a model for responsible facility design within the electrical industry.

Meanwhile, the electrical industry continues to expand at a record pace.
