TFK and Vattenfall sign cable supply pact

Vattenfall and TFK Partner on Offshore Cable Supply for Wind Farms

Vattenfall, the Swedish state-owned energy provider, has signed a newย Vattenfall TFK offshore cable agreementย withย TFK Group. The deal covers the supply ofย 66 kV inter-array cablesย for all bottom-fixed European wind farms developed by Vattenfall in the coming years.

First Project in the Vattenfall TFK Offshore Cable Agreement

The partnership will begin with theย Nordlicht cluster in Germany. The contract runs forย three yearsย and includes an option to extend forย five more. Both companies plan to use this long-term approach to ensure stability, efficiency, and continued cooperation across offshore projects.

Vattenfall operates inย Denmark, Finland, Germany, the Netherlands, and the U.K.ย As part of its renewable energy mission, the company continues expanding sustainable operations and investing in innovative offshore technologies.

Innovation and Partnership Drive Growth

Catrin Jung,ย Head of Offshore Wind at Vattenfall, described the agreement as an important step forward. โ€œWorking with dedicated and reliable partners matters,โ€ she said. โ€œTFK brings both innovative technology and a commitment to building sustainable offshore power networks.โ€

Alexander van der Lof, CEO ofย TFK Group, added, โ€œAfter working successfully with Vattenfall on Hollandse Kust Zuid 1 and 2, weโ€™re excited to collaborate again. Our latest investments in electrification and subsea cable capacity will strengthen our offshore capabilities.โ€

Previously,ย TFK supplied 150 km of 66 kV inter-array cablesย for two Vattenfall wind farms in theย North Sea, aboutย 22 km off the Dutch coastย near The Hague and Zandvoort.

Vattenfall Reaches New Milestone with Vesterhav Syd

At the same time, Vattenfall achieved another milestone by delivering theย first electricity from its Vesterhav Syd offshore wind farmย to Denmarkโ€™s national grid. This success follows seven years of focused development and testing.

โ€œItโ€™s incredibly rewarding to see Vesterhav Syd connected,โ€ saidย Mathilde Damsgaard, Project Director forย Vesterhav Sydย andย Nord Offshore Wind Farms. โ€œOur team is proud to produce clean, fossil-free power for Denmark.โ€

For this project,ย Hellenic Cablesย supplied aroundย 70 km of 66 kV cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) inter-array cablesย and related accessories to support stable energy delivery.
