TKH wins contract to supply 150 km of inter-array cables for offshore wind farm

NKT subsidiary wins Hollandse Kust Zuid inter-array cable contract

Aย subsidiary of TKH Groupย has secured a major contract fromย Vattenfallย to supplyย 150 km of 66 kV inter-array cablesย for theย Hollandse Kust Zuid (HKZ) 1-2 offshore wind farmย in the North Sea. You can learn more about the project owner atย https://group.vattenfall.comย and about TKH Group atย https://www.tkhgroup.com.

The scope includes manufacturing and deliveringย 150 km of 66 kV aluminum core cablesย plus accessories. In addition, the project team plans installation and cable laying duringย 2022 and 2023, so the cable work aligns with the wider construction schedule.

Theย Hollandse Kust Zuid 1-2 wind farmย sits roughlyย 22 km off the Dutch coast, betweenย The Hague and Zandvoort, in the North Sea. When fully built, HKZ 1-2 will add aroundย 750 MW of installed capacityย and generate enough electricity to cover the annual consumption ofย about 1โ€“1.5 million Dutch households, which further supports the Netherlandsโ€™ offshore wind targets.

From 2022 onward, the partners will start delivering and installing the inter-array cables. They expect the offshore wind farm to reach full operation aroundย 2023โ€“2024, and, as a result, Hollandse Kust Zuid will contribute substantial fossil-free power to the Dutch grid.
