Turkish company opens new plant in Albania to manufacture steel wire

Cokyasar Albania Steel Wire Plant Begins Production

Turkeyโ€™sย Cokyasar Holdingย has begun manufacturing steel wire at its new operation,ย Cokyasar Wire Industries (CWI), in Albania. Theย Cokyasar Albania steel wire plantย expands the groupโ€™s European footprint and supports growing regional demand for high-quality steel wire products.

The new facility can produce up toย 45,000 metric tonsย of steel products each year. CWI manufacturesย zinc-aluminum coated steel wireย andย standard galvanized steel wireย fromย 1 mm to 5.50 mm, meeting international quality standards. The plant currently employs aboutย 60 people, and because the site is designed to grow, the workforce can increase as production expands.

Product Range and Target Sectors

CWI supplies steel wire products to a broad mix of sectors, including: energy, automotive, construction, agriculture, gabion manufacturers, and security applications. This diverse customer base helps stabilize demand and positions the plant as a key regional supplier.

Cokyasar Holdingโ€™s decades of experience in steel wire production will help CWI Albania continuously improve product quality and increase capacity. As the site ramps up, customers in Europe and the Balkans gain a closer, more responsive supply source.

Cokyasar Holdingโ€™s Growth and Export Strength

Founded byย Ahmet Cokyasarย in 1973, Cokyasar Holding has grown into a major player in the global steel wire market. Despite the challenges of the 2020 pandemic, the company producedย 180,000 metric tonsย of steel wire products at its three modern plants and reported revenues ofย US$150 million.

Today, Cokyasar ranks among theย top 500 exporters in Turkey, shipping aboutย 70%ย of its production to more thanย 80 countries. The group also stands out as a significant employer, with a workforce of overย 1,000 staffย across its operations.

Strategic Investment for Europe and the Balkans

โ€œWe are going on our investments despite the global pandemic problem,โ€ saidย Erman Korkusuz, CEO of Cokyasar Holding. He described CWI as a strategic investment for European and Balkan markets, where demand for quality steel wire continues to rise.

Korkusuz expressed pride that a Turkish company can meet this regional need and noted strong customer interest since the plantโ€™s launch, confirming the decision to invest in Albania. He added that Cokyasar plans to accelerate additional international investments based on CWIโ€™s success and thanked his team for their contribution to the new facility.
