UL and IWCS China 2020 Symposium Cancellation Due to Coronavirus
The UL and IWCS China 2020 Symposium cancellation reflects rising global concerns over the Coronavirus outbreak. As a result, IWCS and UL chose to cancel the event. They made this decision to protect the health and safety of attendees, presenters, and their families.
Originally, organizers planned the fourth annual UL and IWCS China Cable & Connectivity Symposium for March 24–26, 2020. The event was set to take place at the Shanghai Marriott Hotel City Centre in Shanghai, China.
Reasons Behind the Event Cancellation
As the Coronavirus crisis worsened, event leaders acted quickly. Therefore, IWCS CEO David Kiddoo shared his support for those affected. He noted that the organization stands with colleagues in China during this challenging time.
In addition, L.F. Lai, Vice President and General Manager of UL’s Wire and Cable division, explained the decision. He emphasized that organizers focused on reducing risk and protecting public health.

Future Plans for the IWCS China Symposium
Although organizers canceled the 2020 event, they remain committed to the future. In fact, IWCS and UL have already begun planning the 2021 China Cable & Connectivity Symposium. They expect to host it again in Shanghai.
