The Technikum Metallurgie (TechMet) center operates in Leoben-Donawitz and focuses on developing high-performance steel grades. These materials support production of special rails, quality rod wire, and high-strength OCTG products.
TechMet represents the largest research investment at this site. As a result, voestalpine can accelerate product development and improve steel performance.

The company built the center inside a renovated 2,800-square-meter historic building. In addition, a regional manufacturer from Bruck an der Mur supplied key equipment.
