Wire Expo 2022 Rising to the Challenges Overview
The Wire Association International (WAI) hosts Wire Expo 2022 Rising to the Challenges at the Hyatt Regency Dallas in Dallas, Texas, on June 7–8, 2022. In addition, WAI’s Fundamentals of Wire Manufacturing Course runs on June 6, and this marks its first in‑person session in two years.
The theme “Rising to the Challenges” highlights how the industry tackles supply chain disruption, workforce pressure, and continuous improvement. Moreover, WAI 2022 President James York stresses that face‑to‑face events still offer unmatched value for learning, networking, and problem‑solving.
Exhibits, Plant Tour, and Networking
Wire Expo 2022 features exhibits from about 125 companies, showcasing machinery, materials, and services for wire and cable producers. Attendees can also join a plant tour at Encore Wire in McKinney, Texas, on June 8, where the copper and aluminum building wire manufacturer will host guests on site.
Together, the exhibits, tour, and course create many touchpoints for attendees. As a result, visitors can compare technologies, meet suppliers, and build new partnerships in a compact, in‑person format.
Keynotes: Supply Chain and Leadership
Wire Expo 2022 presents two focused keynote sessions that address today’s main challenges.
-
Tuesday, June 7 – “The new normal in raw material procurement for the wire and cable industry”
Keynote speaker Brian Schulties, Chief Procurement Officer for Prysmian Group North America, will discuss tight raw material markets, long lead times, and price volatility. He will also outline practical strategies that purchasing teams can use to manage risk. -
Wednesday, June 8 – “Leadership in a volatile world”
Keynote speaker Ty Garrison, Senior Vice President of Operations at Commercial Metals Company, will explain how COVID‑era disruption changed work patterns, burnout levels, and supply chains. More importantly, he will show how leaders who view pressure as a privilege can help teams adapt and thrive.
These sessions directly support the Wire Expo 2022 Rising to the Challenges theme by focusing on both resilient supply chains and strong, people‑centered leadership.
