Originally created by the former Wire & Cable Clubs, the award recognizes individuals for their character, credibility, and commercial or technical commitment to the cable industry.

A committee of previous award recipients reviews nominees through a ballot process and evaluates each candidate’s impact on the industry. The WCMA Board of Directors then makes the final selections for the WCMA Distinguished Career Award honorees each year.
