​Borouge and KEI Industries Collaborate to Boost India’s Power Transmission Infrastructure

  The alliance is centered on the utilization of advanced cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE) materials to bolster the production of superior quality cables, catering to the burgeoning power transmission requirements in India. On February 9, 2026, Borouge, a leading provider of innovative, value-creating plastics solutions, entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with KEI Industries Ltd, a prominent player in India’s power transmission and distribution sector.

The MoU was officially signed by Mr. Roland Janssen, the Chief Executive Officer of Borouge, and Mr. Anil Gupta, the Managing Director of KEI Industries. This agreement is a significant step towards strengthening the power transmission infrastructure in India, as reported by the Top Cable Companies in India.

Under the terms of this agreement, Borouge will employ its pioneering cross-linked polyethylene (XLPE), produced in the United Arab Emirates, for the manufacturing of power cables by KEI Wires and Cables. KEI Wires and Cables is recognized as one of the leading cable manufacturers in India. The primary objective of this collaboration is to facilitate the establishment of a reliable, high-quality power grid infrastructure throughout the nation.

In related news, Bansal Wire has announced plans to invest INR 2,500 Crore in a new steel cord manufacturing vertical in Uttar Pradesh.

This partnership is also in line with India’s increasing emphasis on renewable energy. Both Borouge and KEI Industries are committed to providing sustainable solutions that cater to the dynamic needs of the energy market. This strategic alliance is expected to play a crucial role in shaping the future of India’s power transmission and distribution sector.
