Description
This paper introduces an optical fiber/ power composite submarine cable and optical communication/ supervision control system, inclusive of the establishment of a box-type joint. By the accomodation of optical fiber cores into power cable, features such as low loss, broad band, noninductive and cross-talk-free data communication, as well as power transmission by a single composite cable, can be provided. Technical data from a series of tests on the prototype composite cable is given.
