Dry, chemical-free surface treatment in continuous copper-alloy production

$15.00

This paper provides an overview of the plasma surface and heat treatment process for continuous copper alloy wires, strips, foils and tubes. Plasma offers the advantage over traditional wet/chemical treatment processes of being a dry and environmentally friendly process that poses no danger to the operator and requires no handling of hazardous substances. The paper focuses on applications that include hot-dip tinning of PV ribbon and capillary tube; production of Si bronze welding wire; production of battery pin brass wire; and degreasing and deoxidation of copper alloy superconductor wire.
