Description
Recent developments on the Hazelettยฎ Twin-Belt Caster and the SMS Copper Rod Rolling Mill make it possible to increase the product range of the CONTIRODยฎ Process beyond the standard eight mm diameter rod. The mold of the twin-belt caster has a new casting belt and side dam block guiding system designed to provide a higher flexibility in changing the cast bar section. This facilitates a change from a more rectangular section, desirable for wire rod production, to a more flat section for the production of copper strip and low profile sections.
