This paper presents a new technology specifically designed for the non-contact measurement of wire and cable length during production. This new technology offers considerable advantages over the established contact techniques. The main advantage of the technique is the reduction of โcable give-awayโ of 1 to 1.5%, resulting in savings for the average cable manufacturer.
