Quality evaluation of a single-layer steel cord using the simplified simulation method of the roller straightening process

$15.00

This paper proposes an evaluation method for product quality using the finite element analysis in the twisting process of a single-layer steel cord. A simplified simulation method is newly developed to reduce remarkably the computing time and cost. From simulations, the steel cord quality is investigated quantitatively during the twisting process. The simulation-based evaluation method developed can provide the specific information of the role of straightening devices to the steel cord quality.
