The Wire Association International (WAI) successfully completed its second virtual Fundamentals of Wire Manufacturing course. The program ran over seven consecutive Wednesdays from March 17 to April 28 and attracted 165 attendees.
This strong participation highlights continued demand for wire manufacturing training across the industry.
Virtual Training Expands Industry Access
WAI designed the virtual format to increase accessibility and reduce costs. As a result, more companies enrolled employees in the program.
WAI will continue offering the Fundamentals of Wire Manufacturing course at major events, including Interwire 2021, while maintaining virtual sessions as a core training option.
Industry Experts Lead Technical Sessions
The course featured presentations from leading companies, including SDI LaFarga COPPERWORKS, Die Quip, Blachford Corporation, Prysmian Group (https://www.prysmiangroup.com), Southwire Company (https://www.southwire.com), and Wire & Plastic Machinery Corp. (https://www.wireandplastic.com).
Speakers covered key topics such as wiredrawing, extrusion, metallurgy, lubrication, and quality testing, providing practical knowledge for industry professionals.
Continued Growth of Virtual Programs
WAI continues to expand its virtual education programs following strong engagement across previous events. These programs provide flexible learning opportunities and support ongoing professional development in the wire and cable manufacturing industry.
