Epsilon Composite opens Indian subsidiary

Epsilon Composite has launched HindEpsilon Composite in Chennai, India, to drive local manufacturing and deployment of its HVCRC highโ€‘temperature, lowโ€‘sag composite core conductors, supporting Indiaโ€™s โ€œMake in Indiaโ€ push while scaling reconductoring projects and partnerships across multiple Indian states and power sector stakeholders.

Epsilon Composite (https://www.epsilon-composite.com) has expanded its power transmission business by launching HindEpsilon Composite in Chennai, India. The subsidiary, incorporated in October 2025, focuses on the fastโ€‘growing Indian grid market and also supports the governmentโ€™s โ€œMake in Indiaโ€ initiative through local production.

HindEpsilon Composite manufactures highโ€‘temperature, lowโ€‘sag HVCRCยฎ composite core conductors. These advanced conductors increase the capacity, efficiency, and reliability of overhead power lines, and they also help utilities upgrade networks without building new corridors. This launch marks the first step in Epsilonโ€™s plan to build a larger factory in India for composite cores and other highโ€‘performance parts.

Epsilon Cable, through HindEpsilon and local collaborations, has already secured important reconductoring projects in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, and Assam. In addition, the subsidiary engages with key stakeholders such as the Ministry of Power, Central Electricity Authority (CEA), and Power Grid Corporation of India Ltd. to support national transmission goals.

Furthermore, Epsilon has formed strategic partnerships with Indian stranders including Transrail Lighting Ltd., Lumino Industries, and Shashi Cables Ltd. Together, these partners help supply and deploy HVCRC technology across India, making it easier for utilities to adopt advanced conductors at scale.

Epsilon Composite still operates its main headquarters and primary manufacturing facility in Gaillanโ€‘enโ€‘Mรฉdoc, France, where it produces pultruded carbon fiber composite cores for highโ€‘voltage conductors worldwide. Moreover, the company maintains regional offices in Japan, Central Europe, Mexico, and Italy, while positioning HindEpsilon Composite as the key subsidiary for wire and cable manufacturing in India.
