Chinaโ€™s ZTT delivers 60 km of cable for Philippines interconnector project

ZTT Submarine Cable Philippines Project Enhances Power Transmission

ZTT Submarine Cable & Systemย has completed theย factory acceptance testย andย cable load-outย ofย 60 kilometers of 230 kV subsea cableย for theย Negros-Panay interconnector projectย in theย Philippines. Theย ZTT Submarine Cable Philippines projectย strengthens island energy connectivity and supports the countryโ€™s national transmission upgrade.

The milestone marks a key achievement in theย Cebu-Negros-Panay interconnection, developed by theย National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP).

Delivering Key Engineering and Installation Services

ZTT managed the projectโ€™s full scope โ€”ย marine survey, design, supply, and cable installationย โ€” as a completeย EPCI (engineering, procurement, commissioning, and installation)ย package. The work included threeย submarine XLPE cablesย manufactured and delivered on schedule.

Because of ZTTโ€™s project management and engineering expertise, every stage progressed on time and aligned with the contract plan. The company continues to demonstrate strong capability in complex subsea power system delivery.

Next, ZTT willย commission the entire cable system. This includes advancedย load prediction technologyย and other transmission accessories that ensure high efficiency and reliability.

The completed link connectsย Panay Islandย andย Negros Island, helping balance energy distribution and improve grid performance across the Philippines. It also supports ongoing efforts to secure a more stable and sustainable national power network.

Strengthening the Philippine Energy Grid

Theย ZTT Submarine Cable Philippines projectย serves as the first stage in the broaderย Cebu-Negros-Panay interconnection. Stage One boosts transfer capacity betweenย Negrosย andย Panay, while Stages Two and Three will establish aย 230 kV energy backboneย connecting the islands to the greater Visayas region.

As a result, the system will enable faster power transmission and support renewable energy growth across key provinces.

Expanding ZTTโ€™s Regional Impact

With this milestone, ZTT continues to strengthen its role in theย Asia-Pacific subsea cable industry. The company remains focused on supportingย renewable energy,ย grid stability, andย technological advancementย throughout the region.
