Leoni subsidiary sold to Indiaโ€™s Ravicab

Ravicab Cables Private Limitedย announced the acquisition ofย Leoni Cable Solutions (India) Private Limited (LCSI), a subsidiary ofย Leoni AG, headquartered in Bengaluru. The deal strengthens Ravicabโ€™s footprint in Indiaโ€™s specialty cable market and broadens its product offerings.

Ravicab Expands Market Reach

Ravicab stated that the acquisition will expand its market reach, diversify its product range, and align with its longโ€‘term growth plan. For LCSI, the move opens new investment opportunities and sets a clear direction for future development.

Founded in 2013, LCSI operates aย 15,000โ€‘squareโ€‘meter plantย in Bengaluru. The company reportedย โ‚ฌ25.5 million in revenueย in 2021 and employs aboutย 190 people. The facility manufactures cables for industrial, signaling, and specialty applications, serving both domestic and export markets.

Strengthening Capabilities in Specialty Cable Production

Through this acquisition, Ravicab gains an edge inย renewable energyย andย railwayย cable production, especially withย Eโ€‘Beam technology. The deal also includes advanced processes and systems that support premium product lines such asย Kerpenย andย Icon.

Moreover, Ravicab said the transition will enhance efficiency, improve quality, and accelerate its expansion into higherโ€‘growth market sectors.

Leoni Refocuses on Core Business

Forย Leoni AG, the sale marks another step in its plan to streamline operations. The company continues to divest itsย Wire & Cable Solutions Division (WCS)ย while concentrating on theย Wiring Systems Division (WSD).

Leoniโ€™s remainingย Business Group Wire Products & Solutions (BG PS)ย will also undergo review to determine the best ownership structure. Despite challenges from the war in Ukraine, production continues at Leoniโ€™s plants inย Lvivย andย Ivanoโ€‘Frankivsk, demonstrating resilience and adaptability.
