President Biden makes a visit to Prysmianโ€™s new cable plant

President Biden Highlights Americaโ€™s Clean Energy Progress

U.S. President Joe Biden visited the Prysmian Group on July 21 to tour its new submarine power cable plant in Brayton Point, Massachusetts. The event marked a major milestone in Americaโ€™s push for renewable energy and sustainable manufacturing.

The visit also showcased Prysmianโ€™s long-term vision to support the clean energy transition across North America. โ€œWe are proud to welcome President Biden,โ€ said Hakan Ozmen, Executive Vice President of Projects Business at Prysmian Group. Alongside Andrea Pirondini, CEO of Prysmian Group North America, he emphasized the companyโ€™s role in advancing green energy infrastructure.

Brayton Point Plant Powers Offshore Wind Development

The Brayton Point facility, built on the former site of a coal power plant, represents a strong symbol of industrial transformation. Today, it stands as a state-of-the-art manufacturing hub for submarine inter-array and export cables.

These cables, available up to 275 kV AC and 525 kV DC, connect offshore wind farms to U.S. power grids. As a result, they help deliver clean, reliable energy to millions of homes and businesses nationwide.

Prysmian Group Drives Sustainable Innovation

With investments like the Brayton Point plant, Prysmian Group continues to lead the charge toward clean, resilient energy systems. The companyโ€™s cutting-edge cable technology supports global renewable power projects while promoting sustainable industrial redevelopment.

By turning a former fossil fuel site into a center for innovation, Prysmian shows how engineering excellence and environmental responsibility can work side by side.

Building the Future of Clean Energy

The Prysmian Group Brayton Point plant reinforces both local economic growth and national energy objectives. Through advanced production methods and strong partnerships, Prysmian ensures consistent quality, reliable delivery, and measurable environmental benefits.

Together, these efforts help power a cleaner, more connected energy future for North America.
