Prysmian Wins Singapore High-Voltage Cable Contract
Prysmian Group has secured a €33 million contract from SP Power Assets Limited to deliver a major high-voltage cable project in Singapore. The project will connect the Rangoon and Paya Lebar substations, strengthening the country’s power infrastructure.
Prysmian Singapore High-Voltage Cable Project Overview
The Prysmian Singapore high-voltage cable project includes the design, supply, installation, and commissioning of two advanced cable systems. Prysmian will deliver a complete EPCI solution, covering every stage from engineering to final deployment.
Cable System Specifications and Technology
The project requires 44 kilometers of HVAC underground cables rated at 230 kV with 2000 sq-mm capacity. These cables feature a seamless corrugated aluminum sheath, ensuring durability and performance.
Prysmian will supply both cables and accessories through its state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in China. This facility supports the APAC utilities market with a full range of:
- High and extra high-voltage cable technologies
- Medium voltage solutions
- Fire protection cables
Installation and Infrastructure Scope
Prysmian will install the cable system in a 50-meter-deep tunnel using water-cooled troughs. In addition, the company will provide:
- Auxiliary cables, including telephone and low-voltage (LV) cables
- Fiber optic cables
- Distributed Temperature Sensing (DTS) systems
These components will help monitor cable performance and improve system reliability.
