WCMA names 2018 award winners, reports changes in officers for body

WCMA Announces 2018 Distinguished Career Award Winners and Leadership Updates

The Wire & Cable Manufacturers Alliance (WCMA) has announced its 2018 Distinguished Career Award winners along with key organizational updates. The WCMA Distinguished Career Award winners will be recognized at the upcoming annual ceremony.

WCMA Distinguished Career Award Winners Honored

To begin with, WCMA (https://www.wcmainc.org) will honor the 2018 award recipients on April 7 at the 34th Annual Awards Dinner and Investiture Ceremony in Hartford, Connecticut.

This year’s honorees include:

  • Rick Antic, Champlain Cable Corp.
  • Melissa Delargy, Quabbin Wire & Cable
  • Harvey McDowell, Berk-Tek Nexans
  • David Nestigen, IEWC Corp.
  • Steve Ruth, Freeport McMoRan Sales Inc.
  • Sheldon Scott, Whitney Blake Co.
  • Art Yaroch, Belden (retired)

These leaders have made significant contributions to the wire and cable industry.

Leadership Changes at WCMA

In addition, WCMA announced new leadership appointments. Robert Canny, president of TE Wire & Cable, now serves as WCMA president.

He succeeds Tom J. Rosen, who now holds the role of Past President. Meanwhile, Michael Weiss, president of Whitmor Wirenetics, continues as vice president, and Scott Harden serves as treasurer.

New and Continuing Board Members

Furthermore, WCMA welcomed two new board members: Susan Welsh, president and CEO of Rubadue Wire, and Virginia Hauser, vice president at Freeport McMoRan Sales.

At the same time, the organization thanked outgoing members Dennis Chalk of Marmon Engineering Wire & Cable and James George of Chase Corporation (https://www.chasecorp.com) for their service.

Continuing board members include leaders from companies such as Champlain CableDaikin USA (https://www.daikin.com), Mexichem Specialty Compounds, and Gem Gravure Co.

Overall, WCMA continues to recognize industry leadership and promote collaboration across the wire and cable sector. The annual awards event highlights innovation, experience, and long-term contributions to the field.
