Iffy-day turns to sunny results for New England Chapter golf tournament

The WAI New England Chapter golf tournament 2023 brought together more than 135 golfers at Tunxis Country Club in Farmington, Connecticut, despite a challenging start to the day. While early weather created difficult travel conditions, skies cleared in time for participants to enjoy a full day of golf and networking.

The WAI New England Chapter golf tournament 2023 delivered strong participation and a competitive field. The Fluorogistx-sponsored team—Jim Elliott and Rick Larson of New England Wire Technologies, along with Jim Bliss of Marmon IEI—won the event with a score of 12 under par (60).

Three additional teams followed closely at seven under par, highlighting the competitive nature of the tournament.

Networking and Industry Engagement

In addition to the competition, the event provided valuable networking opportunities for industry professionals. Participants connected with colleagues while supporting the New England Chapter scholarship fund through raffles and charity activities.

According to WAI Executive Director Steve Fetteroll, the event continues to strengthen industry relationships. He credited Chapter Chair Jess Foss and Golf Chairman Jim Evans for their leadership and hands-on approach.

The tournament received strong backing from industry sponsors, whose contributions help fund scholarships and support chapter initiatives. Companies across the wire and cable industry participated as event, skills, and hole sponsors.
